Purpose
Beauty 2 The Streetz Community Impact Microgrant Program exists to support individuals and small organizations that are making a meaningful impact in serving homeless and housing-insecure individuals and families within the communities we serve.
The purpose of these grants is to strengthen grassroots efforts that align with the charitable mission of Beauty 2 The Streetz by providing unrestricted financial support that recipients may use to further their charitable work.
Each year, Beauty 2 The Streetz may award up to five (5) unrestricted Community Impact Grants of $1,000 each, subject to available funding.
Eligibility
Applicants or nominees must:
- Be actively serving homeless or housing-insecure individuals.
- Demonstrate a positive impact within the community.
- Be located within the United States.
- Be an individual, informal community group, or nonprofit organization.
- Agree to use the grant solely for charitable purposes consistent with the mission described in the application.
- Not be an employee, officer, director, committee member, or immediate family member of Beauty 2 The Streetz.
- Not have received a Community Impact Grant within the previous 24 months unless otherwise approved by the Board.
Nomination Process
Anyone may submit a nomination. Self-nominations are permitted.
Each nomination must include:
- Contact information
- Description of community work
- Population served
- Impact statement
- Description of how unrestricted funding would further the charitable work
- Photos or supporting documentation (optional)
Submission of a nomination does not guarantee selection.
Review Process
Following the close of nominations, Beauty 2 The Streetz staff will review all submissions for eligibility and completeness.
Eligible nominees will be evaluated based upon objective criteria including:
- Demonstrated service to homeless populations
- Community impact
- Sustainability of services
- Alignment with the mission of Beauty 2 The Streetz
- Financial need
- Ability of the grant to expand or improve services
Incomplete or ineligible applications may be removed from consideration.
Committee Selection
Beauty 2 The Streetz may publish eligible finalists on its social media platforms to encourage community engagement.
Being named a nominee or finalist does not create any contractual or legal right to receive funding.
Recipients are selected through rounds of Committee voting.
The Beauty 2 The Streetz Grant Review Committee retains exclusive authority to determine all grant recipients. The Committee is made up of Beauty 2 The Streetz employees, board members, and community partners.
The Committee may consider:
- Application quality
- Community impact
- Mission alignment
- Geographic diversity
- Financial need
- Available funding
The Committee may select recipients whose charitable work best advances the mission of Beauty 2 The Streetz.
All decisions of the Committee are final.
Grant Award
Each selected recipient will receive a one-time unrestricted grant of $1,000.
Recipients may use grant funds for any lawful charitable purpose that advances their work serving homeless individuals and communities.
Grant funds may not be used for:
- Personal luxury purchases
- Political activities
- Lobbying
- Illegal activities
- Purposes inconsistent with the charitable mission presented in the application
Beauty 2 The Streetz reserves the right to request repayment if grant funds are knowingly used for fraudulent or unlawful purposes.
Recipient Agreement
Before receiving funds, recipients must agree to:
- Accept the grant under these guidelines.
- Certify that all information submitted is true and accurate.
- Use grant funds consistent with the charitable purpose described in the application.
- Permit Beauty 2 The Streetz to publicly recognize the recipient.
- Provide a brief impact update within six months.
Conflict of Interest
To ensure fairness:
- Directors, officers, employees, grant committee members, and their immediate family members are ineligible.
- Committee members must disclose any relationship with an applicant.
- Any committee member with a conflict shall recuse themselves from discussion and voting.
Anti-Discrimination Statement
Beauty 2 The Streetz provides equal opportunity in all grantmaking activities without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, age, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic under applicable law.
Publicity Release
Recipients authorize Beauty 2 The Streetz to use their name, organization name, photos, story, and community impact for promotional and educational purposes unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Reservation of Rights
Beauty 2 The Streetz reserves the right to:
- Modify program guidelines
- Verify information
- Decline to award any grant
- Award fewer than five grants
- Cancel or postpone the program
- Request additional documentation
No nomination or application creates any entitlement to funding.
Tax Information
Recipients are solely responsible for determining any federal, state, or local tax obligations arising from receipt of grant funds.
Beauty 2 The Streetz does not provide tax or legal advice.
Recipients are encouraged to consult their own tax professional.
